@mtyrhetoric @Racheldoesstuff thank you, so kind! Tina Fey's Bossy Pants audio book was studded with little delights and audio extras. i remember listening to it while driving and feeling like she was riding shotgun with me :) | @pawneewaffle @michaelianblack if you like comedy, some books i've read from comedians that i really dug are tina fey's book bossy pants, sarah silverman's book the bed wetter and amy's book yes and. Also live from New York was fun. | I absolutely loved Tina Fey’s Bossypants and didn’t want it to end. It’s hilarious as well as important. Not only did I laugh on every page, but I was nodding along, highlighting and dogearing like crazy. On Page 3, she offers amazing advice to women in the workplace: No pigtails, no tube tops. Cry sparingly. (Some people say, Never let them see you cry. I say, if you’re so mad you could just cry, then cry. It terrifies everyone.) It is so, so good. As a young girl, I was labeled bossy, too, so as a former — O.K., current — bossypants, I am grateful to Tina for being outspoken, unapologetic and hysterically funny. | If you haven’t read Tina Fey’s Bossypants, you will, and whatever you are drinking will come out of your nose due to laughter.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middleschool gym teacher. Accidental Presidents
Try This Instead

Not sure if this is the right fit?

Consider Accidental Presidents by Jared Cohen. Recommended by 10 sources.

Accidental Presidents offers eight narrative portraits of men who succeeded to the U.S. presidency without election, using anecdote-rich scenes and readable context to show how personality and circumstance interact with office power. It’s strongest as a set of self-contained stories that make succession stakes concrete for non-specialist readers; it does not prioritize dense archival argument or exhaustive methodology, so expect some interpretive generalizations and repeated themes across cases. Use it for fast historical orientation rather than scholarly deep-dives.
